Exchange 2013 - Calculator - NUmber of dedicated CAS  only role servers

I attempted to use the Exchange 2013 Server Role Requirements Calculator, Version 7.6

When selecting Server Multi-Role Configuration ()MBX+CAS) = NO, I am not provided the any of the Dedicated CAS server data:
- Recommended Minimum Number of Client Access Server Processor Cores
- Recommended Minimum Client Access Server RAM Configuration
- Recommended Minimum Number of Dedicated Client Access Servers

Does the CAS server calculations work?  or .. maybe there is another linked field I need to populate or change to enable these calculations?

I just want to point out that I get a nice system configuration with Multi-Role=YES:
- 2 Sites
- Resilience
- 1 DAG
- 10,000 users
- MB size 2 GB
 2 DB copies
etc..etc  ( those are the big ones  )

I review the results from the above setings and then go back to the input tab, and change the Multi-Role setting to "NO"
The RAM requirements on the MB servers goes down, but the specific three fields for the CAS server information do not populate.

Hi,

Generally, when deploying multi-role servers, the calculator will take into account the impact that the CAS role has and make recommendations for sizing the entire servers memory and CPU. So when you see the CPU utilization value, this will include the impact both roles have!

When deploying dedicated server roles, the calculator will recommend the minimum number of Client Access processor cores and memory per server, as well as, the minimum number of CAS you should deploy in each datacenter.

For more information about it, please refer to:

Thank you for your reply Winnie, and what you entered is what I expected, however....

I completed a configuration for a multi-role environment and viewed its results. I then went back to the Input tab and changed the option to NOT use multi-role configuration. Yet, when I viewed the results, there is not data supplied in the CAS server recommendations.

I am wondering if changing that one answer is sufficient to get CAS data.

Is there any particular reason you are looking at deploying standalone CAS servers?  The preferred architecture from the Exchange Team is to deploy multirole servers going forward.  Infact in Exchange 2016 they have removed the CAS role completely.

At this point it doesn't matter why. We have an environment that is configured that way, and I am wanting to verify if we have adequate resources at the CAS level.

Ok, I figured out the problem. Im the Processor Configuration section I entered the number of cores pre server but failed to lookup and enter the SPECint2600 RATE.  Once I entered this value, The spreadsheet populate the CAS related fields on the ROLE REQUITEMENTS tab.

Thanks to everyone for taking time to read thru here.
